| So it's that time of the month again. I'M POSTING!!!
Mallory and I have now been together for two wonderful years now and I really couldn't be happier. May tenth was the date but it's taken me awhile to post. She took me out to this wonderful little place on the Plaza called Buca de Beppa, or something like that, you can check out her site and it's probably spelled right. Then we just walked around on the plaza for a while, went in a few shops, saw Andy and Valerie, it was good fun. Then as a surprise she took me to the roof of the Crown Center Hotel thing where we had prom the last two years, where it all started and gave me a little cake that said happy two years on it. We lit the candles and ate some, but were really too full to eat much, the restaurant had filled us up. And before we went there, she had us stop at a gas station to buy a lighter because she forgot to have me bring one. So that was kinda weird...anyway It was good fun and she is a wonderful girl.
So I wanted to make our two years pretty special for her, cause she means a lot to me and stuff, so I actually started planning a couple months in advance. For those of you that know me, this is really out of the ordinary for me, I like to "fly by the seat of my pants" a lot and do things at the last minute. So I had this great idea. I don't know if it was really good or not, but I thought so. Mallory and her two best friends are Green Day fans. I thought is would be good to buy her three tickets to the Green Day concert at Municipal for a few days after our two years. I had it all worked out with her family and her two friends that nothing would be planned for her that day. Probably the most forward planning I've ever done in my life. The bad part was, the guy I planned on getting the tickets from scammed me and the most important part of the plan fell through. What am I to do? Now for plan B.
I actually think that what actually happened is probably better than a few concert tickets, so I guess its a good thing this happened. Mallory has had this crazy (sorry honey, but it is) idea that she wants to taxi an airplane around on a runway. Not fly it, nothing like that, just drive it around on the ground. I guess I'm not supposed to understand, but I have a friend from church that got his pilot's license recently. Keith House if anyone know him. He's a great guy buy the way. Anyway, so about a month in advance now, I talk to him at church one weekend that I'm back from school. We worked it out and set a tentative date. Keith ended up having to go to a track meet that day that we had planned on because he is on scholarship. Anyway, we planned for sometime the next week. Wednesday night, storms with hail. Same thing on Thursday. Busy Friday, gone Saturday. Finally, the next Sunday we were able to go. I really hope that I surprised her, I think I did. We went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen but afterwards I took a route towards the Grain Valley airport. I think she had an idea when we drove up to the airport, but that’s ok. We got out of the car and Keith walked up.."Hi, I'll be your pilot this afternoon...I hope you enjoy you flight." It was good stuff. Anyway, he got us into the plane, I got to sit in the back and Mallory in the co-pilot. He showed her how to steer the plane on the ground and let her taxi for a little while. For once, I was rather proud of myself. Is that wrong? I'm not sure. Anyway, then we took off and he gave us an aerial tour of Grain Valley, Blue Springs, out to the Missouri River, flew over our homes, and then did a touch and go on the runway before landing. I was a great flight. I took some pictures, they will be at the end of the post. After we landed, he took our picture by the plane and then flew back to Warrensburg. All in all, I had fun and I think Mallory did too. This was probably one of my better ideas, and I guess I'll have a hard time topping it. Mallory, I really hope you enjoyed last Sunday, thanks for putting up with me for two years, I love you so much!!!
So now I'm waiting for all my pictures to upload to photobucket.com. It's been about five minutes and I wish I didn't have dial-up. Too bad my family is poor, just like me. Wish I was seeing Star Wars right now, but I'm going Sunday with my Dad, brother, Bill Spano, and Mallory's Dad. She wouldn't go with me to see that "geek" movie if her life depended on it. Maybe I can persuade her to go with me when it hits the dollar theatre... We did make it through the previous five Star Wars movies, I'm rather surprised that she watched them with me. Only one more... And my pictures still haven't loaded yet. This is definitely my longest post ever, I'm getting back at all you Harrys, Jessicas, Ashleys, Wades, and Paiges that take up all my time reading your posts. Just kidding guys, I love you all. As soon as these pics load, I'm going to bed, I have to take my mom to work in the morning. And pick up my trombone. And thanks to the Royals getting twelve hits (and losing the game) I get a free dozen Krispy Kreme! Hooray for donuts! . . . . . . Ten minutes for pics . . . . . . I could have driven to Mallory house, installed my camera software, uploaded the pictures, re-writin my post and driven back home to go to sleep by now . . . . . All done! Here goes...

Here us after the flight,

Good old Blue Springs High School.

The Missouri River.
